Well, while this is a very personal reply to something Sorrentino said, she failed to mention that not every pregnancy is the result of a consensual encounter. In my hometown, I blame our school system for the high rate of pregnancies, and you know why? In school we are not allowed to read chapter 9 in the health books, the reproductive section. It is NOT spoken about in any manner- abstinence or otherwise. And our high school (and middle school even!) is jam-packed with pregnant bellies wandering around. While the responsibility is also a parent's to explain the situation, for one reason or another, many don't. I think that in schools, it should be a very factual, open, honest, and non-partisan explanation of sexual health, reproduction, and disease. But as the article's author has her own opinion, so do I. And that's it :-)
