A WOMAN used legal aid in a custody bid for her children despite allowing her partner to inflict "catastrophic" injuries on her two-year-old boy.
The woman - who was sentenced to six years' jail this week after pleading guilty to child cruelty and grievous bodily harm - was granted legal aid last year to contest a custody application brought by the children's aunt.
